Why do
our Tapers cost more than machine-made shrink-wrapped paraffin
candles? Because they're tediously built, a thin layer
at a time, by dipping the wick into a tank of hot
wax and then allowing that paper-thin layer to cool before
the candle is lowered into the hot wax for its next layer…approximately
24 layers for a 7/8" Taper.
The materials
used by Creative Candles to make our Taper wax formula is
blended of seven waxes, each of which has the highest melting
point and is the best of its kind available in the world.
The wick
is made of top grade cotton, carefully braided to the perfect
size and treated so it will wick the melted wax fuel.
Some of the Taper wicks are imported from Europe at about
three times the cost of American-made wicks, and work about
twice as well.

Our Tapers will
drip when forced to. There is no such thing as a "dripless"
Taper candle. Ours have an unusual feature, however; they
"recover" and stop dripping as soon as the major disturbance calms
down. Then they re-melt the wax that dripped down the sides
and burn it as useful fuel for light.
The wicks connect
on our Tapers because they're tied to the
dipping frame in pairs. Another distinctive quality about
our Taper Candles is the variety of beautiful colors. Not
only are they true, but our Tapers are the same color all the way
through. Unlike the machine-made paraffin candles, our Tapers
use the same formula of high-melt waxes throughout, making them
solid in color and a much longer burning candle.
All of our Gothic
Candles, Ball Candles, and Pillar Candles are individually dipped
by hand and use the same quality materials and craftsmanship.
And our fragranced candles use only the finest perfume oils, making
their fragrances distinct and long-lasting.
Lastly, our
candles are beautifully packaged, wrapped in tissue and boxed, an
elegant presentation that is worthy of these quality candles.
